Origins, development, present production capacities and quality systems.

The hot working of metals is an activity strongly carried out in the low Astico valley.
But if the origins of this activity lose themselves in the centuries it is sure that family "Rossi" has started making it since the first decades of 1800 and has consolidated this tradition up to nowadays.
The impetuous industrial development after the second world war brought to a radical transformation of the Company, since the early 60's the old water hammers were replaced by modern autocompressor ones and a little later by hydraulic presses and, in the late 70's, the first rolling mill for the production of seamless rings was installed.
The hot working has then evolved from the easiest tools for agriculture up to the most complex forgings for industrial purposes and particularly with the production of flanges suitable to be used in the chemical and petrochemical industry and for power generation according to the most important national and international rules (UNI, ASME, DIN, BS etc).
The present capacities of FORGEROSSI S.p.A. allow the production of standard flanges up to 60" NPS and up to a diameter of 5000 mm, for special purposes (e.g. pressure tanks). The company can moreover produce any other kind of forgings, such as discs, shafts, tubing heads and particulars according to drawing) up to a maximum weight of about 12 tons.
The range of steels to be used is as wide as possible and includes the most common carbon steel of general use, the low-alloyed, alloyed steels, stainless steels, duplex and superduplex, according to all the most important European and international referring rules.
The availability of an equipped technological internal laboratory allows the actuation of all the distructive and non distructive tests required by the customer and/or by the referring rules. All tests are performed by skilled and qualified personnel.
All the materials produced are then accompanied by a testing document conforming to EN 10204 issued both internally (3.1.b. doc) or by any other national or international Third Party or Inspection Agency (either 3.1.C., 3.1.A or 3.2).
Moreover, since the middle of the 70's, the Managing of FORGEROSSI S.p.A. decided to adopt a Quality System, taking as a reference the fundamental requirements of BS5750 Part 2; this allowed to achieve, later on, the ISO 9002 requisitions and to obtain the first official approval by a credited Party in 1992 with DET NORSKE VERITAS ITALIA.
At present, with the same Party, the Quality System is certified in conformity to the requirements of UNI EN ISO 9001:2000.
